The story follows a heartbroken groom who meets a distressed, reserved woman, and together they find healing until his ex returns, bringing a twist to the plot. “It’s a style of comedy that appeals to a larger pool of audience. Plus, it’s important that my producer makes his money back. Just because I love a certain brand of comedy, it’s not necessary that the audience needs to love it. At least, that’s my reading of our viewers,” says Althaf in a conversation with a Hollywood Times reporter.

The title of the movie, which roughly translates to ‘Running Horse, Jumping Horse,’ refers to a white horse, which also appears a couple of times in the film’s trailer. This element adds a touch of fantasy, setting the movie apart from regular rom-coms and offering viewers a fun, cheesy watch.

Apart from acting, Althaf is also a director, and has just stepped into the off-camera side, with his directorial debut Malayalam dark comedy Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela (2017), with Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ahaana Krishna, and Nivin Pauly in the lead roles. Eight years later, his latest project is Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira (2025), which is only Althaf’s second as a director.
